Iran’s military power, defensive not offensive

Iran to hold air defense drill in country's east.Iran's official news agency says the country's military will hold "massive" air defense maneuvers in the east, starting this weekend.I think Western analysts who have been observing Iran’s capabilities know that Iran’s military doctrine is based around defense of the Iranian territory and it is not in any way based around an offensive capability. Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ (IRGC) has begun its military drill, the Great Prophet 7, by firing indigenously made missiles at hypothetical enemy bases.

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast says the ongoing drill in the central sector of the country is intended to convey a message of sovereignty and full preparedness to establish security in the Persian Gulf as well as the Strait of Hormuz.

A senior Iranian commander says the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Army plan to hold a massive 7-day nationwide maneuver in the eastern parts of the country.

Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Command Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili told reporters on Thursday that the maneuver dubbed "Modafe’an-e Aseman-e Velayat 4," (Defenders of Velayat Skies 4) will be held later in November with the participation of units from the IRGC and other forces of the Army.
West elections, battleground for capitalists: Ahmadinejad.
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has criticized the electoral systems in the United States and Europe, saying elections have turned into a battleground for the capitalists.
Elections, which are a major manifestation of the people’s will, have turned into the scene for the propaganda campaign of the capitalists and huge expenses and many independent, decent and efficient figures do not get the chance to participate in [their countries’] ruling, Ahmadinejad said in a speech on the opening day of the 5th Bali Democracy Forum in Indonesia on Thursday.
He added that there is a “wide gap” between the slogans and the attitudes of Western officials before and after the election.
